Hamburg Green Hydrogen Hub celebrates topping-out ceremony in Moorburg

With the topping-out ceremony at the construction site in Moorburg, the Hamburg Green Hydrogen Hub has reached another visible milestone. Since the foundation stone was laid in December, the site has made significant progress in a short period of time, transforming from a largely undeveloped construction area into a clearly recognisable project. Among other achievements, the main building has now been completed, despite challenging conditions ranging from snowy winter months to the heatwaves of recent weeks.
The focus of the ceremony was therefore first and foremost on the people working on site: the skilled tradespeople, project partners, and contractors who are turning the project into reality day by day. Their commitment is bringing the future production of green hydrogen in the heart of the Port of Hamburg visibly closer. The electrolyzer is scheduled to commence commercial operations in the second half of 2027 and is expected to produce around 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
